About Wu Wenjun AI Science and Technology Award
The Wu Wenjun AI Science and Technology Award (吴文俊人工智能科学技术奖) was initiated and organized by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI). It received support from Wu Wenjun, a pioneer and leader in intelligent science research in China, the first recipient of the National Highest Science and Technology Award, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the honorary chairman of CAAI.
The award was officially established on January 6, 2011. To date, the "Wu Wenjun AI Science and Technology Award" has successfully held eleven rounds of evaluation and recognition activities, and enjoys a high reputation in the field of intelligent science and technology in China.
High-Altitude UAV Ground Observation Technology
High-altitude unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are emerging as a new ground observation platform. Due to their significant characteristics such as high flight altitude and wide monitoring range, they effectively compensate for the shortcomings of traditional platforms such as manned aircraft and satellites, and are widely used in various fields.
However, high-altitude UAVs still face critical technical bottlenecks when performing ground observation tasks.
Key Achievements
Professor Junwei Han's team at Northwestern Polytechnical University has overcome multiple key technologies and developed a high-altitude UAV ground observation technology system characterized by "high efficiency, fast detection, and accurate recognition".
The project features:
- Complex System: High technical difficulty with strong innovation
- Intellectual Property: 35 authorized national invention patents
- Academic Publications: Over 30 papers published in important domestic and international journals
- Technical Breakthrough: Overcame key technical bottlenecks including low efficiency, slow detection, and poor recognition in high-altitude long-endurance UAV ground observation tasks
- International Level: The overall technology has reached international advanced level
